Type Your Article Here ... The Seven Words You Can't Say on Newsvine..
Im not great on websites, sometimes I dont scroll down far enough and I miss things. Like the profanity filter. On my Newsvine account page , I didnt realize there was a profanity filter! I typed the word asshole and it posted as %#@!&. What the h-e-double hockey sticks?? I had always thought of profanity or vulgarity as the province of consenting adults.
So when I found the profanity filter I immediately turned it OFF !! I figured that 99.9% of Viners would do the same. I mean turn their profanity filter on or off depending on their sensibilities. If you dont want to read George Carlin's "Seven Words You Cant Say on TV" well then turn on your profanity filter!! I left mine off, as I said. Have you heard the audio clip about the 9 different ways to use the word "fuck" You know, adjectives: "thats fucking beautiful", or is that a modifier?? I dont know.Verbs:" go fuck yourself", Nouns: "Glenn Beck is a real fuck!!". And on and on and on... I have to say it was fucking funny!!! Anyways after listening to the clip the word becomes meaningless in a way. Repeated over and over it becomes... well.. harmless in a way.
So when I looked for my post in response to an article I read on Newsvine, an article that used the word fuck about...oh, I dont know, about a million times, well I thought we were all consenting, profanity filter on or off, adults. But I found that my comment had been deleted. "Removed by the community." WTF? In this post I used the word fuck about three times. I also used the word as a gerund: fucking. I then used George Carlin"s Seven Words You Cant Say on TV. I not going to go into it but I left off the word "tits" As he said ( RIP George!!) "tits" dont even belong on the list.
And yet my post was deleted! It even had a positive response! I dont get it! Really I dont! If you dont want to read profanity or vulgarity or scatology then read a bunch of $#@&?#@!!&%. But please lets all be adults or young adults about this. My post was meant to be humorous. I didnt direct these words toward any person, place or thing. It was not mean spirited. It was just a bunch of (giggle, giggle) dirty words. I mean come on people.
I dont know who this Tyler guy is. Im not so sure about subjective "moderators" and I know other posters have similar concerns, but what the hell? We live by the rules. Its just Im not so sure by what rule my post was deleted. Damn it all to hell!!!!!!!!!!!! Oops!
